Moringa Capsules or Moringa Powder: Which one to choose?

Posted on: 18-05-2018        Article Readers : 159

I am sure you must be aware of the very popular Battle of the Greens? If yes you’re well aware that moringa is a nutritional powerhouse that other green superfoods just can’t compete with.  In a competition of nutritional strength we staged moringa against the likes of collard greens, matcha, kelp, and spinach; but even against Popeye's go-to energy booster, moringa still is unbeatable.

So now that you are aware of the overwhelmingly encouraging benefits of moringa, you’re ready to give it a try right? If you are  ready to add moringa to your diet, you might be wondering what’s the best way to do so. If you happen to have a moringa tree growing in your backyard, nothing like it.  But if not, you’re probably looking at one of the two most commonly sold forms of moringa leaf powder or moringa leaf powder capsules. While both of them can  deliver a boost of antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and nutrients that you desire, powder form is clearly superior to capsule form. Let’s try to explore and understand why is that so .

Moringa- The Nutrition Powerhouse
Moringa is perhaps best known for its powerful antioxidant properties. The reason that this is so valued is that the antioxidants help fight the effects of stress, damage and disease. Free radicals from your environments-unstable molecules that result from stressors such as pollution, UV rays and even burnt food-can cause serious damage in your body if left unchecked. Our bodies have pretty impressive immune systems that naturally combat free radicals. But with the ever-expanding reach of technology and over-population it can be hard for our immune systems to keep up. This is where antioxidants turn into a sort of superhero for our bodies.

Vitamins C, A and E are abundant in moringa and with a single serving you can nearly reach the recommended intake of these vitamins for the entire day. The flavanoids present in moringa help maintain a healthy heart and the high protein content makes it a rich source of nutrient. In fact, the benefits of the moringa  are almost endless! Because of the alarming benefits of this miracle tree there really is no second thought that consuming moringa daily is a great investment in your health. How to consume these benefits, though, is equally important

Capsule Vs Powder
The Basic difference between  powder and the capsules is the added step of filling capsules with this dried moringa. So if they are essentially the same exact thing then what is the difference between the two?

One gram of moringa powder can deliver twice as much protein as a serving of yogurt, thrice as much potassium as bananas, four times as much vitamin A as carrots & seven times as much vitamin C as oranges Moringa’s bio availability increases greatly in loose powder form, as the nutrients are condensed into a neat and accessible tablespoon.

Consuming a gram of moringa powder in capsule form, however, you would need to consume several capsules at a time, daily. This is surely not pocket friendly.
